High Definition Ps2

Problem with 360 high definition?
I just got the 60GB 360 and when I come with cables that he could not get HD picture. I connected the cables correctly, and I have the switch on the power cable to HDTV. When I choose 720p which leads me to wonder where "To maintain these values and the image looks good, but when I choose that takes me back to 480p. It also says the cable is not set to HDTV, but it is. I tried using HDMI and it worked, but use it for my PS3 and it's a pain to change all the time (I have to go all the way behind the cabinet, and should not have to anyway, the wires should work first.) I also tried my PS2 component cables on my PS3 and work so I know my TV is fine. Did anyone ever have this problem? Is there any way to fix it? TV cabinet is almost as tall as I am surrounded by walls. Therefore, the difficulty.
The best answer is to get another HDMI cable (although I do not know why should we get to the bottom of the closet when you could pull the system forward and change the cable from there) but to answer your question on 360 component cables … The cable itself is actually a very cheap cable. Obviously the output ports of components, but not entered into the system. You may want to try to get a new component cable, but even that might not be the real problem. It may be a video port defective in the system. This problem could be many reasons, unfortunately, without the ability to test each separate reason, I would not be able to tell you security. BUT, if you have a friend who has a system, ask if you can connect the cable to your system to test the cable. If only outputs at 480p on your system (and cable of the normal outputs of 720p), then you have a faulty cable. If your system works well, and your cable does not work on your system, then you have a flawed system. It is the only way to truly test. Two systems. One of television. Throwing down the gauntlet, ninja style. Good luck, my friend.
