Can a Dish network ViP722 DVR record two HD shows at once?

All of the information on the Dish Network site says it can record 2 shows at once but it doesn’t say if both shows can be HD. The site does say it can control two TV’s but one will be standard definition. Does this mean I cannot record 2 HD programs at the same time?

It’s true that this receiver can control two TVs and one will be in standard definition. This is done with the receiver in Dual mode, meaning that two rooms with two TVs are controlling the receiver independently (with one in SD and the other in HD).

If however you put the box in Single mode, then it functions as a two tuner DVR, meaning that it can indeed record two HD shows simultaneously. This then does not allow you to use the box in two different rooms and renders the second remote (the RF remote) useless.
