Yes and no. Hi8 is an obsolete format, with analog you have problems with time base and very low chromatic resolution. Both issues are fixed by switching to miniDV. the only practical reason to continue this type of camera is going to run your video output to a portable recorder DV. I have a Panasonic WV-F250 camera same time and I use a Sony DSR-50 DVCam recorder with him to keep the modern technical requirements. The comparison is not Samsung DV camcorder. This is a recorder flash of poor quality which is not close to DV or miniDV video class. professional use in general, means setting the lights for shooting indoors or at night. if you want green face super night shot, you must adhere to consumer equipment.
