The 500D's 15.1 MP CMOS sensor EOS performs exceptionally low light and produces images incredibly low noise. Canon's DIGIC 4 works with the sensor processor to deliver 14-bit image processing for smooth gradations and natural looking colors and as the start times in a split second and image review after shooting almost instantly. Advanced DIGIC 4 Reduction of noise when shooting at faster High ISO allows the EOS 500D to provide a high ISO sensitivity range up to 3200 – expandable to 12800 – so you can shoot in low light without flash.
