You would be forgiven for forgetting that these days, but there once was a time when the best application of its own Samsung LCD panels was to be found in televisions from competitors. Although the Korean giant SPVA (Super fabric vertical alignment) panels have benefited from its position as the best LCD panels in terms of contrast for a long time, Samsung was only recently learned how to build a large TV that surrounds them.
The LE40B651 design is impressive and a little disappointing all at the same time. Impressive because they have the "design" Crystal ", triangular and subtly semi-transparent "honeycomb" appearance somewhat surprising, disappointing because it just does not look as distinctive as the final touch of red color with years of design in color.
Still, though I personally loved the touch strongest color effect, agree that seemed to attract as many hate lovers, so I can not blame Samsung for thinking more subtly this time.
It also has image processing (including 100 Hz for reproduction improved motion), and can play all formats of multimedia files from USB devices or PC, and even takes about 190MB of built-in media recipes ranging from children's stories and songs.
Then there is the fact that the small LE40B651 produces a simply stunning picture quality. Thanks to a combination of bright, well saturated and some of the deepest black colors seen on an LCD TV, the images seem so dynamic, even EastEnders looks like a Hollywood blockbuster.
The motor of 100 Hz help to reproduce the motion blur with a very unimpressive, which in turn helps in making high-definition images look almost scary sharp and detailed.
The remote is big and messy, but the onscreen interface is coherent. Connectivity is respectable four HDMI inputs and two USB ports. One of them can be used with optional £ 50 Samsung wireless dongle if you can not connect an Ethernet cable.
The TV also has about 200 MB of storage for preloaded content including photos and miscellaneous information that can be added via USB. The best of Samsung is the quality of the image – after a bit of tweaking. You get control over shake and blur reduction that was lost in the Philips and Panasonic, which image overcook when treatment is unleashed.
Samsung Tellier term net Internet TV is available in many their latest games. The system is well designed, mostly populated with Yahoo! Widgets for web mail, news and other information. A better fit to surf TV is the photo sharing site Flickr and Twitter application.
Stores a Twitter account, but users change means writing early session from the beginning. Write Twitter updates, even those below the limit of 140 characters, is slow due to the slow on-screen keyboard; style mobile phone keys through the numbers would be better. For this reason, Twitter on TV is fine for the following liabilities in lieu of participation, but can not access web links in messages.
There is also a library of content. " Select this option and you can access stored recipes, play a game slow to react, see a movie of several vague stories for children, or select "welfare" and listen to relaxing low bitrate melodies. Well, if people do not want to watch TV on their TV, we can not blame Samsung for offering optional distractions, right?
All of these factors, the LE40B651 is mostly good news. The way Samsung have tried to compensate for deficiencies in natural contrast LCD with automatic dimming function, not my taste and I like being the control over it, but that does not change the fact that TV has above average performance in grayscale and excellent color reproduction. Nor does it change the fact that shows the emissions standard definition TV and other sources in a most favorable way. In fact, this screen is typical of most of HDTV Samsung LCD these days: mostly impressive, full of options for image processing (both useful and not), and anticipate some peculiarities as part of the package.
