Hd Vhf Antenna
Amazing radio reception?
I live a bit further north of Canton, OH, and I've been getting good radio reception of truth. In a day I normal Wheeling, WV and Mansfield stations. Today, however I am getting a Sandusky, OH station, and a few Columbus, OH seasons. In the past I managed Pittsburgh, PA Charleston, WV seasons, and once received a station Beckley, West Virginia. I use a UHF / VHF TV antenna. Is it normal to have this kind of reception? Does antenna to help get a good reception, or HD radio receiver to help with the reception?
It is not unusual for the reception like this at this time the year. Due to an inversion temperature "of FM radio and TV signals that are often the line of vision, double when layers of air over cold ground at different speeds (usually around sunset and sunrise). This can also occur just before or after a storm front passes. This reception also can be directional. So some days you can listen to the stations of this and the next time from the west, south or north (we have radio in Canada). TV antenna does not help if HD radio is used or not. Try rotating the antenna to see which direction the signal is coming. You may be able to listen to stations 300 miles one direction but not in another 60 miles. Ham (amateur) radio operators love this phenomena.
