Using FTA receiver for OTA channels?
Hello I installed an OTA antenna in a friend's house and is receiving about 30 HD channels and SD in the area Toronto. I have an HD receiver Sonicview and wondering if I can get the same channels with it? If so, I need to scan satellite to obtain FTA channels such as City TV, CTV, etc?
You can do so if the receiver has an ATSC tuner. If you do not need a separate ATSC tuner or a ATSC tuner on your TV. Most if not all OTA channels that are FTA on satellite. Most stations in Toronto are available at any of the platforms payment of Canada, paid for the privilege of receiving. You need your receiver and antenna to receive them.
