Chicago Hd Broadcast Channels
why can’t i see cbs( channel 2 in chicago) on my new hdtv…all other channels that broadcast aren’t a problem?
cbs says that they now broadcast in chicago in hd but all i get is snow….no sound,no picture. ive set the tv to autoprogram but it always skips cbs.
WBBM is transmitting low power on their digital channel, 2.1. Depending on your location and antenna, it definitely will be more difficult to receive than other DTV channels in the area and almost any analog channel. It should improve after the transition on Feb. 17th. Meanwhile, you should have no problem with the analog ch. 2.
Followup: if you’re getting “snow” on any channel, you’re not watching a digital channel. Snow is a characteristic of a weak analog channel. DTV channels will either be in solid, totally gone, or pixelated if reception is weak. No snow. Check the channel number displayed on the screen–if it’s DTV, it should be a numeral and a decimal, like 2.1, 10.2, etc. Analog channels have no decimal.
