Way better than WDTV
I first got a first generation of slow interface WDTV and listen. I decided to give Asus O! Play it a try and wow. I put my movies in Vob format because the quality is of great concern to me. However, this player does it all. I recently learned that could put the entire DVD in a folder and acting as a normal DVD in a DVD player. You can go through the menus and choose which chapters you want jumping too. The only problem is the remote control is not a DVD remote control for functions such as the menu button is not available. So browse the DVD and play one chapter will get stuck there and no way to return to main menu. If you press the back button takes you all the way to the folder screen.
The other new feature that I found you can connect a USB hub to it and be able to touch anything connected to USB hub. I have 3-connected external drives and the price of external hard drive fell this feature comes in really handy. I have read that the role of hub WDTV took him to a firmware update more recently, but may have to put it back. I have not experienced any problems rebooting, but I'm on the newest firmware. Sometimes the interface is, but not as bad as WDTV interface. My advice is to try and see if you like, the Amazon is going to take it back if you do not.

Awesome product
I have this for my living room, connected to my 52 "Samsung HDTV. This player is just slightly impressive. You can play almost any format shot him. The only exceptions are some video files I recorded with my digital camera age, but I'm not worried about a hat … I'll just make some other format.
I have one of my old hard drive (130GB) in an external case connected to it via E-SATA and also share media from my computer in the basement through Ethernet. Play pictures, music, video from all locations, no problem. The video and audio are outstanding.
I would recommend this product to everyone.

Excellent performance and easy to configure
I bought Asus Play O in May and have been using both wired and USB drive without any problems. This is my first purchase media player and I chose it over the player WD media for his ability to play RMVB files and conncetion Ethernet.
I connect to the Powerline Ethernet Adapter dir825 my Dlink router, which connects to a server easyStore Acer Aspire WHS. At the other end, going through HDMI to a Panasonic projector LCD 720p/1080i output shot movies / images to a 106 "screen Dalits. The sound is through optical cable to my home theater receiver. I have about 1.5 TB of movie files in various file formats, incl. MKV, AVI, RMVB, DIVX, etc file sizes ranging from a few one hundred MG-9 GIG. Reproduction up nine movie files without any technical problem GIG: image quality and DTS sound quality is fantastic.
I gave the unit 5 stars as it does an excellent job playing all the files, and I had no problem going through the facility rapidly. But there were a couple issues minor that I have better ways to avoid:
1) When the kit DTS HD or Dolby Digital soundtracks, I use "…. RAW "(I forgot the name of it, but it is in the bottom of the audio output options) to enjoy the best sound, to play files RMVB AVI or stereo, I have to switch to the second audio output last option "…. PCM? To hear the sound, you can put the audio in the audio Last 2 output option and get the sound from any file formats, but will miss the DTS or Dolby Digital high-definition files (which become stereo);
2) To me it seems quite redundant to have a mode selection, ie, music, photos, movies in this multimedia player forces you to go through each mode to play music, photos or movie files, especially when you connect to your server via Ethernet cable, and delves into the folders on the server or NAS to play the files, for example, is necessary to select Movie mode, then delves into folders film on your server to play movies, and if you play a song, you can not just go to the music folder on the server, but must return music as an ASUS, then scroll down the wired connection back to the server and then the music folder … I hope that with the new firmware upgrade can be changed. Or maybe I just do not know how to do it now.
However, even this small player is not perfect, is better than my expectations by a large margin and will definitely recommend it. I used to use my PS3 to stream media files, now is the time to sell the PS3 and buy a pair ASUS over O Play.
